Casual Day Funds to Help the Hungry

Dudley Ventures' employees wore casual dress to the office through the months of June, July and August for a contribution of $1 each day. The staff raised a total of $773, which DV matched to bring the total to $1546. Employees used this to shop for canned goods and other non-perishables, as well as hygiene products. Our final donation to the Desert Mission Food Bank was 1,357 pounds worth of items.

Desert Mission

Desert Mission Food Bank offers help to the hungry and those in need of nutritional support. Food bank services and programs assist our most vulnerable neighbors by providing food for more than 1,600 families each month. Their mission is to provide emergency food assistance in a dignified and respectful manner to all individuals and families within the community.

The Food Bank offers a variety of food programs to help people in need:

  • Emergency Food Box Program
The Emergency Food Box program serves nearly 5,000 people in crisis each month. All food is either donated or purchased with donated funds.

  • 4th Street Market
The market, a part of Desert Mission Food Bank, helps eligible, low-income families stretch their food budget by purchasing food at significantly reduced prices.

  • Infant Program
The infant emergency food program provides developmental appropriate food to children 0-12 months to include formula and diapers when available.

  • Snack Pac Backpack Program
This program is designed to assist at risk children in area schools who don't have food on the weekends.
