Summer Spirit 2010
July/August 2010
Dudley Ventures' staff and management wore casual dress to the office during the months of July and August for donation of $1/day. Dudley Ventures matched the employee contributions each month. The funds DV raised were used to support the following programs.
Phoenix Rescue Mission
Fill-A-Backpack Program
The Phoenix Rescue Mission's Back to School Event assisted over 900 children from low-income families by providing everything they need to start the school year off right. Dudley Ventures purchased 25 new backpacks and filled them with: Notebooks, Folders, Rulers, Pencils and Pens, Pencil Cases, Glue sticks, Binders, Scissors, Erasers, Crayons and Markers.
The Phoenix Rescue Mission has been serving the Valley's homeless since 1952, when they occupied a humble building and chapel on South Third Street in Downtown Phoenix. The Third Street kitchen served roughly 40 meals a day. Fast forward to 2008, and the Phoenix Rescue Mission serves 5,600 meals a week and has two locations. One thing has remained the same, and that is the Mission's commitment To Rescuing Lives, To Saving Lives, To Changing Lives and To Serving Lives.

Sponsorship of Sage
Dudley Ventures was delighted to sponsor Sage, a dog who was in need of both medical attention and dental work. Sage was found by a woman while she was walking her dogs. She couldn't keep him, but she did take him to the vet and had his golf ball sized mats shaved off and had him vaccinated. He had a microchip registered to a puppy mill, which was disconnected. She found him another home, but this new family abandoned him the very next day! Left with no other options, she took him to Animal Control in hopes that he would get adopted. After six days no one adopted Sage and he was placed on the kill list. That's when RESCUE stepped in. Thanks to one of RESCUE's wonderful fosters, they were able to save Sage's life.
RESCUE is the last voice for dogs and cats who are awaiting death in county pounds. Since 1995, they have operated with the philosophy that for every animal placed in homes, they will be back to rescue another animal facing an untimely death. To date, RESCUE has fulfilled that promise over 9,400 times. Through their unique Match Making Service RESCUE works to pair up each animal with the most appropriate adopter to achieve a happy, lifelong match. As a result, RESCUE's cumulative return rate is 8%, one of the lowest in the nation.
